Due to the birth of my son Samuel Zoey, I wasn't able to get the Newsletter out as quickly as I would have liked to do it. To compensate, we left last month's special offer run longer than advertised. Next month, we will be back on track and punctual. Sammy Z (and the rest of us here at the Black Hawk Tobacco Shop) would also like to wish all of our customers a really happy Easter and nice Spring season too.

| Secure Web Site |
 |
 |
| |
As most of you know, the Black Hawk Tobacco Shop uses two domain names: www.blackhawktobaccoshop.com and www.blackhawktobacco.com. We started with blackhawktobacco.com, but there was some confusion. People automatically typed in the word "shop" and were unable to find us. To help those customers, we purchased the domain, blackhawktobaccoshop.com and started using both names.
To make it easier to organize and update, all of the order forms run from the blackhawktobacco.com domain. Regardless of which web site you use, the order form is sent using https//www.blackhawktobacco.com. We did this because the "https" address is a secure Internet protocol. That way we would only have to set up one SSL certificate for both web sites.
This too has caused great confusion
and consequently, we will be changing the domain structure slightly. By April 1, 2005, both web sites will run completely independent of each other. It will not matter which address that you use. You will be able to order from either web site. The only difference is that blackhawktobacco.com will be using RegisterFly's SSL Certificate (supplied by RapidSSL a GeoTrust company) and blackhawktobaccoshop.com will be using a GeoTrust certificate directly. This means that the primary domain the we use, www.blackhawktobaccoshop.com, should run a little faster.
I will include more information on this in the April newsletter. You will know that the new SSL Certificate is in place when you see the new GeoTrust logo on the home page at www.blackhawktobaccoshop.com. For the time being, you can order just like you always have. All the order forms are secured with 128 bit encryption. All of our order forms are secure. |

We have said this often and we would like to say it again. When you place an order at the Black Hawk Tobacco Shop, you are placing an order with a Native American owned company residing on Native American Sovereign Tribal Land. Native American Companies selling Native American Products on Native American Land to Native Americans and Non-Native Americans are not required to pay State Taxes. Either the Tribal Nations from whom we purchase our cigarettes or the Black Hawk Tobacco Shop pays all of the Federal Taxes, which are required by law.
That Means: You do not pay taxes nor do you pay back taxes when you order cigarettes from the Black Hawk Tobacco Shop. We pay them.
Further more, we do not report sales to any tax, government or tobacco organization or agency.
And finally, if the law were to change, it would not be retroactive. You would not be fined for past purchases. The tax free status would simply be lost and we would start paying sales taxes to local governments. We would still have the most inexpensive cigarettes available. They just would be more expensive than they are now.
This is a much bigger issue than cigarette taxes, tax free cigarettes and the state governments passing a few laws. This is an issue between the Native American Sovereign Nations and the Federal Government. This issue is about the right of Tribal people to support themselves from their products on their land.
If a state like New York, Michigan, Connecticut or Arizona, to mention just a few, wants to break our Federal Treaties, they are going to have to do a lot more than simply pass a few simple laws in their local legislatures. They are going to have to take this issue to the Supreme Court of the United States of America. They will have to argue as to why they should be allowed to violate our rights and abolish the treaties that have stood in place for around a hundred and fifty years. |

Texas Republic Premium Cigarettes is manufactured by the Seneca Cayuga Tobacco Company which is owned and operated by the Seneca Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma. Seneca Cayuga also makes the Skydancer brand. After
discontinuing the Seneca Cayuga Premium Cigarette late last year, Seneca Cayuga introduced two new brands: Texas Republic and Red Rock. Like all of the cigarettes manufactured by the Seneca Cayuga Nation, Texas Republic has a smooth, rich flavour. We encourage all of you 85 mm King Size smokers to try them.
In order to encourage you to try something new, we are offering Texas Republic Premium Cigarettes in the King Size for $12.99. That includes Full Flavor, Lights, Ultra Lights, Menthol and Menthol Lights. This offer is only available in the Newsletter and not available from the main order form.
If you would like to order Texas Republic Premium Cigarettes in the King Size for $12.99, please follow the below link. This offer expires April 15, 2005.

The Visions Flavored Luxury Cigarettes are momentarily out of production due to reconstruction at the manufacturing plant in Arizona. We are not very happy about this situation. After all, we are huge fans of all five of the flavors and not sure whether the Chocolate Mint, Cherry, Vanilla, Wintermint or Cloves is our favorite. That changes on a daily basis. As soon as they are available again, we will let you know. |

We would like to thank the people who have taken the time to write nice reviews about us at Alexa.com. We think that is wonderful support from our customers and it makes us happy to know that you enjoy our service.
Here is an example of what one customer has written about us:
"Tell only your friends who smoke about this on line store as those non-smokers will try to mess with our little secret. Oklahoma just passed a hefty tax on smokers to pay for education, new trauma center and a host of other things. Thus, this sent me looking for a place to purchase quality cigarettes. I found many sites, but knew that some Native American Smoke Shops carried a product that was free of all the additives, I narrowed my search to this type of product. And Friends, this is the best product & service I can recommend. The on line store is easy to use and the shipping is fast & reasonable. Tobacco, pure & simple is great...But to find it all in one place... is a secret to keep to ourselves & friends only..."
If any of our other customers would like to take five minutes to review us, you can do so at www.alexa.com. We have absolutely no control over what you write about us. We believe strongly in free speech and encourage you to send in your opinions. I am sure that you won't find another cigarette shop on the Internet that lets their new customers read reviews about their service from their previous customers in this completely transparent and independent fashion.
We thank you again taking the time and effort to support us.

Hawk Tobacco Shop’s Link of the Letter |
 |
 |
 |
This month's "Link of the Letter ", has absolutely nothing to do with Cigarettes or Tobacco products. It has to do with Security and Internet Scams. Let's face it, the Internet is a double-edged sword. It gives us the freedom to get information and to make make our lives easier. It also makes it easier for the crooks and criminals to get information about us.
There is hope. Scambusters.org has a wonderful web site to help you stay informed on the latest scams zapping around the Internet at light speed. Scams are different than viruses, worms, Trojans and their ilk. As in the real world, a scam is designed into tricking you into giving the scam artists your money (and as much of that as possible). All those E-Mails about off-shore banking are perfect examples.
So be sure to take a look at www.scambusters.org. There is a great section called urban legends. Those are great for a laugh. The urban legend about why Kentucky Fried Chicken had to change their name to KFC is definitely worth five minutes of your time. Does anybody know the truth?
